It would be safe to say the music of Bruce Hornsby pretty well de es categorization. The word “eclectic” doesn’t quite nail it. Ec- lectic innovators borrow from a variety of sources to form some- thing new. Hornsby, though, seems to be at home in a variety of genres, reshaping everything he touches with his own distinctive sense of interpretation, in other words, style.
Like a pair of counterfeit designer jeans, any label put on him is going to be wrong.
