What’s next at the Bowl!
Andra Belknap
Husband and wife Steve and Polly Hoganson of Santa Barbara will present the rst-ever Topa Topa Mountain Folk Festival in Libbey Bowl Oct. 1.
The all-day music event begins at 11:30 a.m. and will continue until 10:30 p.m.
The Hogansons previously managed a music venue in Ventura and have repeatedly received re- quests from fans to stage a folk music event.
“We said, ‘hey, let’s contact Ojai and see if we can rent out the Libbey Bowl,’” recalled Steve Ho- ganson. “It’s a fantastic community with great support for the arts and music, speci cally.”
The event will bene t the Ventura-based Turn- ing Point Foundation, which supports Ventura County adults suffering from mental illness.
“We’d like for it to be an annual event,” said Steve. “So far the support has been overwhelm- ing.”
The White Buffalo band will headline the event, joined by Grizfolk, Jaime Wyatt and the Bang
Bangs, Todd Hannigan & Sleeping Chief, Shane Alexander & The Great Favorites, Dear Lemon Trees, Lee Koch Trio, The Brambles and the Bryan Titus Trio.
The event will also feature live art, food trucks and wine from Majestic Oak Vineyard and Topa Mountain Winery.
