As part of his school’s annual Service Day project Nov. 16, Villanova Preparatory School senior Killian Menne helps out at the Ojai Coastal Horse Rescue ranch on Lomita Avenue in Meiners Oaks. Several students from the Visigoth Tribe painted equipment and outbuildings, hauled and distributed dirt and horse feed and maintain corrals. The Rescue has been at that location for 10 years and currently has 25 horses, including two miniature horses. Other Service Day sites included the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy’s Ventura River Preserve – Oso Trailhead and Wheeler Gorge Visitors Center as well as locations in Ventura, Santa Paula and Oxnard.
