Five students injured in crash
by Lenny Roberts

Five students on their way to Nordhoff High School Friday morning were injured when the vehicle in which they were riding veered off the road and overturned off Ojai/Santa Paula Road near Happy Valley School at 7:10 a.m.
California Highway Patrol Officer Steve Reid said Randy Webster, 18, lost control of his westbound Hyundai XL at a curve after passing a vehicle. Webster's Hyundai then rolled approximately 40 to 50 feet down an embankment, coming to rest in a creek bed.
Webster, and 15-year-old twin passengers Ryan and Andrew Worsham, who complained of pain, refused medical treatment, according Reid. However, Tiffany Baca and Michelle Larson, both 16, were transported to the Ojai Valley Community Hospital by LifeLine Transport paramedics.
Baca, sitting in the rear of the vehicle, received a cut on her forehead and complained of pain. Larson, who was not wearing a seat belt according to the CHP report, sustained a broken left collarbone, a right knee strain, facial lacerations and a concussion.
She was later transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura for surgery, according to LifeLine Transport spokesperson Wynne Schumacher.
Reid said that Webster has not been cited for any vehicle code violation, but the investigation is continuing.
