VPS B-Ball falls to Oaks
Christian, Kilpatrick
by Misty Volaski
Villanova's boys' basketball team went into Tuesday's game
vs. Oaks Christian knowing the odds of a Wildcat win weren't
good.
Though the prediction was fulfilled, the Wildcats put up a valiant
effort against the team with a 17-0 record. Djadji Daffe contributed
15 points to the Wildcat score, while Nathan Langelier trailed
with 14 points.
With the help of Langelier, Daffe and a strong defense, the
Wildcats were able to come within nine points of the undefeated
Oaks Chrisitan team. However, Oaks Christian pulled away in the
fourth quarter, and took home the win, 66-47.
Wednesday's game was a much closer match. Daffe once again ruled
the court with 29 points on the evening, bringing Villanova ahead
of Kilpatrick in the last minutes of the fourth quarter.
With two minutes left, Villanova led by four points, but Kilpatrick
showed their might, triumphing over the Wildcats, 53-50.
The Wildcats play next on Jan. 30 vs. Thacher School at home
at 4:30 p.m.
