Gabrielle Aime Andrews Hrock

Gabrielle Aime Andrews Hrock, 82, of Ojai, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Ojai. She was born Aug. 18, 1919, in Pawtucket, R.I., and lived in Ventura County for 28 years, coming from Deerfield, Ohio. She had lived in Ojai for five years.
Mrs. Hrock was a housewife and had been a clerical worker for the County of Ventura.
Her interests included sewing, crocheting and knitting; caring for animals, including many strays and donations to the Humane Society; and gardening.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Phil and Sharon Andrews, and Victor and Nancy Hrock, all of Ojai; two grandchildren in Oak View; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Lea Houle, brother Roger Houle, and husband Bill Hrock.
The family would like to thank all the people who cared for her at The Manor of Ojai, Father Peter and staff at St. Joseph's Health and Retirement Center in Ojai, and Lillian and the people with Assisted Home Hospice of Ventura County.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Health and Retirement Center Chapel in Ojai.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Health and Retirement Center Building Fund, P.O. Box 760, Ojai, CA 93024, or to the Humane Society, 402 Bryant St., Ojai, CA 93023.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai.

 

Warren Henry Hamilton

Warren Henry Hamilton, 85, of Ojai, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, in Ojai. He was born April 11, 1916, in Madison, Wis., and lived in Ojai for 60 years, coming from Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Hamilton worked in the warehouse and delivery department at Sears in Ventura for 27 years, retiring in 1971.
He and his wife, Jane, traveled to Europe in 1967, to Hawaii and places around the United States. His interests included gardening and photography.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his daughter, Barbara Sue Stocker, of Santa Cruz, Calif.; sister Shirley Runyon of Lafayette, La.; two grandchildren, Christine Michal Stocker and David Hamilton Stocker; two twin great-grandchildren; and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Elnora "Jane" Hamilton.
A memorial service was held Feb. 4 at Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai, with Pastor Lewis McClendon officiating. Private interment will be at Westwood Cemetery in Susanville, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home, Ojai.

 

Beverly Irene Wooley

Beverly Irene Wooley, 81, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tenn., of advanced metastatic breast cancer. She was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Colorado.
Mrs. Wooley spent most of her life in Ojai, where she was a business owner of the Purple Wagon Mall and various other properties, including the ranch she built and lived on for 37 years in the Ojai Valley.
She is survived by her daughter, Chrystie Lynn Burns, son-in-law Robert H. Burns, and five grandchildren, all of Nashville; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Dorothy Torrence of California; and former husband of 23 years, Sheb Wooley, of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosalee and Bev Torrence (adoptive father) and Bill Addington, sisters Iola and Evelyn Addington and brothers Lefty and Burch Addington.
Memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203 or to Breast Cancer Research, c/o Pollota Teamworks, 2709 Media Center Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90065.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at Harpeth Hills Cemetery immediately following the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Crawford Mortuary & Crematory in Nashville.
