Eva Worsham
Eva Worsham, 97, died Wednesday, Feb.
6, 2002, in Santa Barbara, where she had lived for the past five
years. She was born Nov. 22, 1904, in Cooper, Texas, the daughter
of Charles David Jones and Evie Holland Jones.
She was married to Clarence Worsham on Aug. 16, 1926, in Sulphur,
Okla. They later moved to Norona, Texas, and to California in
1942. Mr. Worsham was a minister in the Churches of Christ until
his death in 1964.
Mrs. Worsham is survived by her children, Betty Mason, of Santa
Barbara, and Roy Worsham, of Ojai; sister Ruth Munday Nanez of
Tulare, Calif.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Worsham, and
three brothers.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m.
at the Church of Christ, 677 N. Turnpike Road, Santa Barbara.
A donation in her name can be made to the Turnpike Church of
Christ.
Arrangements are under the direction of Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral
Chapels in Santa Barbara.
Norma V. Holloway
Norma V. Holloway, 93, of Ojai, died
Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Acacias Care Center. She was born July
29, 1908, to John Kean and Manilla Fish Kean, in Woonscket County,
S.D. She had lived in Ojai for 55 years, coming from La Jolla,
Calif.
Ms. Holloway was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Nelia Morgan, of Newbury Park;
son David T. Morgan of Ojai; four grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home
in Ojai.
Antoinette R. Bourgoin
Antoinette R. Bourgoin, 53, of Ojai,
died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002. She was born July 22, 1948, in Ventura,
and was a lifelong Ojai resident.
Ms. Bourgoin provided convalescent and elderly care, both privately
and at St. Joseph's Health and Retirement Center. She also worked
in data entry for Dean Witter.
She was a member of the American Legion, Ojai Post #482.
Ms. Bourgoin was preceded in death by her companion of 23 years,
Tom Pedersen, on Dec. 4, 2000.
Private services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society,
Special Olympics or the Humane Society of Ojai.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home
in Ojai.

Edward A. Colson
Edward A. Colson, 96, of Ojai, died
Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at the Acacias Care Center following a
short illness. He was a 27-year Ventura County resident, coming
from Panama in 1975. He was born Oct. 11, 1905, in New York City,
N.Y., to Edward and Alma Colson.
In 1925, he graduated from New York State Nautical School, and
then worked for seven months as a quartermaster on the SS Orizaba.
He then went to work as a 3rd officer on the SS Aguistar for
13 months.
Mr. Colson had also worked for Marine Cargo Insurance Co. of
North America in New York, and La Libertad Insurance Company
as a troubleshooter in Mexico City in 1948. He subsequently was
a supervisor for La General in Caracas, and then in 1961 became
an executive vice president for Interamericana de Seguros in
Panama. He retired on March 23, 1975, and returned to the United
States.
Mr. Colson will be remembered for teaching Spanish at Little
House in Ojai.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and Gene
English, of Santa Fe, N.M.; his son and daughter-in-law, Edward
and Oksana Colson, of Greensboro, N.C.; and brother and sister-in-law
Paul and Vera Colson of Walpole, Mass.
The family would like to invite friends to a gathering in honor
of Edward and Emily Colson to be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 2
p.m. at The Gables of Ojai, 701 N. Montgomery St., Ojai.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler
Mortuary in Santa Paula.
Janine Werner
Janine Werner, 61, died Tuesday, Feb.
5, 2002, after a six-year battle with cancer. She was a 40-year
resident of Manhattan Beach, and a part-time resident of Oak
View.
Ms. Werner, born in Germany, was a graduate of Hollywood High
School and a 1964 graduate of the University of California at
Los Angeles, and continued her studies at the University of Southern
California. She managed real estate. Her interests included reading,
gardening and traveling, and supporting environmental and animal
causes.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Revoyr; daughter and son-in-law
Amy (Melman) and Scott Swindle of San Diego; stepdaughter Nina
Revoyr of Los Angeles; mother Lore Barthelemy of Germany; and
sister Beatrice Pace and nephew Robert Pace of Shaker Heights,
Ohio.
A memorial service was held at Ms. Werner's home on Saturday,
Feb. 9, 2002.
Donations in her name may be made to the Humane Society of Ventura
County in Ojai or to the World Wildlife Fund.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Cremation Society
of the South Bay.
