P.E.P. recipient Elder cares
about sports, classmates
In physical education class, Shane Elder cares about how
well he is doing his warm-ups and strengthening exercises. A
naturally strong runner, he tries hard on his laps and takes
care of himself by pacing and paying attention to his body's
energy level. He has the self-discipline to improve his skills
in every sport he participates in, according to his teacher Meredith
Bowman.
As the Physical Education Project Student of the Month, Shane's
most admirable trait is his respect for his classmates and teachers.
He pays attention to his teachers the first time and follows
through above and beyond the call of duty, said Elder's principal,
Dr. Marty Babayco.
Always first to help others, Shane has a keen sense of duty that
other classmates admire, Bowman said. His good nature and good
sportsmanship on and off the field set an example for the entire
school.
