Percival slides in Thacher game-winner
by Misty Volaski

One would think an undefeated team such as Oakwood would sound intimidating to a young Thacher girls' varsity soccer crew - especially one that beat them before, 5-1. However, the Lady Toads were undaunted and hungry for some rarely seen CIF playoff action.
The first half was scoreless, neither team coming close to the opposing goal. But Oakwood was in Thacher territory for the majority of the game, and it looked as though Thacher would lose in overtime.
With mintues left on the clock, a perfectly executed cross from Thacher's Brooke Toeller allowed striker Kelly Percival to boot the ball into the back of the net for a Toad win, 1-0.
"They played very inspired, physical, intense soccer," coach Fred Coleman enthused. "We had a lot of nice counterattacks."
