Wildcat spikers eat Sharks, 3-0
by Misty Volaski

Villanova's boys' volleyball season is off to a perfect start. Out of six games, the Wildcats have won - you guessed it - six games, for a 6-0 record overall this year.
And things seem to be getting even better. The Wildcats aced the Malibu Sharks last Wednesday, winning each match, 15-8, 15-13, 15-9.
Though Malibu came close at times, it was Villanova that had the clear upper hand for the whole game.
Villanova's Cole Gibson, of this year's first-place basketball team, topped Villanova with 17 kills and seven blocks.
Teammate Nate Langelier, also of Villanova's 2001-2002 basketball team, followed close behind with 12 kills and four blocks. Setter Ryo Kuwata kept up the pace, with 36 assists.
Chris Gerhart, a newcomer to the sport, had nine kills on the day.
"Surprisingly, it's his (Gerhart's) first year," coach Jason Burt said of Gerhart. "He made some really good kills for us."
Villanova will play today at home vs. Condor League rival Laguna Blanca, junior varsity at 3 p.m. and varsity at 4 p.m.
