Ranger tennis serves Carp
loss
by Misty Volaski
Some days are just good.
Nordhoff High School's boys' tennis team had one of those days
recently when they traveled to Carpinteria for their fourth overall
win of the season against the Warriors. Nordhoff won, 15-3.
The nonleague game found the Rangers dominating, with nearly
every player winning all of his matches.
No. 1 doubles team, seniors Rhett Walker and Tyson Barker, demonstrated
their usual Ranger power to win all three of their matches. The
pair are planning on competing in the 102nd Ojai Tennis Tournament
later this month.
Andrew Nelson, Nordhoff's top singles player, took all of his
matches as well. He also qualified to play in The Ojai.
Rangers Evan Schick, Nathan Lurie, Riley Simonds, Nick Sandoval,
Sean Wells and Eric Lumiere also played strong matches, each
winning at least two of their three matches.
Nordhoff is currently on spring break and will compete next in
another non-league game against Buena April 15 at Buena at 3
p.m.
