May Day for Mommy & Me

Invited by Ojai Valley Birth Resource & Family Center director Nan Tolbert, Mommy & Me family and friends showed up Wednesday in celebration of May Day at Sarzotti Park's heritage oak for a springtime activity.
Members of the Mommy & Me group, which meets monthly at the park, were asked to bring cloth, paper and ribbons that would be wrapped around the tree, maypole-style. Flowers were then added and the children danced and improvised songs.
The Mommy & Me support group is part of the Early Parenting Education Program of the Ojai Valley Birth Resource & Family Care Center, and supported by a grant through the Ojai Valley Neighborhood for Learning. The NfL is funded through the Children & Families First Commission of Ventura County.
