Cotti, Perkins shoe-ins at
10K Heart and Sole
by Misty Volaski
Though 200 people walked and ran in last Saturday's Heart
and Sole to raise money for the American Heat Association, it
also served another, perhaps even greater purpose: raising overall
health awareness for those who attended.
Everyone from children to senior citizens showed up to participate,
including Ramona Jackson, 85, who walked the 5K, and Whelan Brydston,
87, who won the 1K. Both seniors raised several hundred dollars,
which, along with the rest of the proceeds, went to the American
Heart Association.
