Endo, Athletics take OV Major League

The final standings for the Oak View Little League are as follows:
· In the Minor B division, the Mariners won by defeating the Giants in the final game of a round robin tournament by the score of 10 to 1.
The Mariners will represent the Oak View Little League as the Tournament of Champions team. Marcos Marillo pitched four strong innings to earn the victory.
· In the Minor A division, the Cardinals won both the first and the second halves to earn the right to represent the league in the Tournament of Champions tournament.
· In the Major League division, the standings are as follows: The Athletics finished the season with the best record in the league at 12 wins and 6 losses and won the first half of the season.
The Dodgers and the Pirates both finished the season at 10 wins and 8 losses, but by head-to-head matchups, the Dodgers edged out the Pirates by winning four out of the six games.
The Reds finished the season with a record of four wins and 14 losses. The Pirates won the second half of the season, giving them a chance to win the division in a playoff against the Athletics.
In a best of three games series, game one was scheduled for Monday, game two today, and game three, if needed, will be played Friday.
The winner will represent the league in the Tournament of Champions major league tournament.
Highlights of the season include:
· Jason Endo, of the Athletics, led the league in home runs with 14 in the 18-game schedule. He also pitched a no-hitter against the Reds, and finished the season with a batting average of .586.
· Garrett Ochoa, of the Reds, finished the season with three home runs.
· Tyler Richardson, of the Pirates, finished the season with three home runs, as well, and also pitched a no-hitter during the season while playing the Dodgers.
