Chiefs 'IE' lead second half of Sundowners season
by Misty Volaski

As the second half of the Sundowners Golf League season opened, Chiefs "IE" has taken a surprising lead with 62 points.
The Chiefs' score can be attributed greatly to Steve Streich's 27 points off an even-par round, his best as a league player.
The second-place Scramblers made another big jump from a week ago, also scoring 62 points. A playoff team last year, the Scramblers finish 10th out of 16 teams in the first half of the season.
Above Par's 61 points gave them a not-surprising third-place spot. As one of the top three finishers in the first half of the season, they are guaranteed a place in the end-of-the-season championship tournament.
Two-time champs Bopper's Thumpers, who at the start of the season placed in the top five, have gradually fallen down this season, and currently hold sixth place with 58 points.
Robin Williams, of the eighth-place Forrest Gumps, topped the low-gross and high point scoreboards, posting a 31 for 23 points. Othe low scorers were Bopper's Jacob Lusk, at 33, and the Sambaggers' Terry Gustafson, who posted a two-under-par 34. Play resumes Tuesday afternoon.
