All-Stars, league champs move
to second round

The Oak View Little League Minor A Division All-Stars started
out in the El Rio All-Star Tournament with a victory by defeating
host El Rio by a score of 12 to 1.
Oak View was led in pitching by Skyler Logsdon, who pitched three
strong innings for the win and had Quinn Jenkins close out the
game for the save.
Manager Mike Lorenger said, "I'm very happy to start out
the tournament with the victory; you never know how well you'll
compete against the other districts, and it's a great win for
the kids."
The team was led by strong hitting from Logsdon, Chad Mitchner,
Earl Shank and Sean Loernger.
In the Major League, the Oak View Little League Athletics defeated
the Fillmore Little League Athletics in the first game of the
Tournament of Champions by a score of 14 to 0. Ryan Lagos got
the win by pitching three strong innings for the Oak View team
with seven strikeouts, and went one for three at the plate.
Jason Endo was perfect at the plate, going three for three with
a home run. He also pitched the remainder of the game for the
win.
Jimmie Johnson went two for three and scored twice. Teammate
Thomas Quackenbush also went two for three and scored once, while
Matt Walgraeve went one for one to lead the team to the victory.
The Oak View Athletics play tonight at 5:30 p.m. at Oak Dale
Park, home of Oak View Little League, in the second game of the
tournament against the winner of the Foothill Little League vs.
Piru Little League game played Wednesday night .
