Sundowners find new leaders
in second half of season
by Misty Volaski
Out of the first half's top three in the Sundowner's Golf
League, the only team maintaining its position is Above Par,
currently in third place.
Three-time league champion Parker's Putters, which finished in
the top spot in the first half of play, fell deep in the pack,
going from 10th place last week to 12th this week. The team's
top scorer, Dale King, shot 40, good for 20 points.
With two of its five players missing, Good Pick It Up remained
in 15th place.
Above Par kept its high ranking with a strong round from Ken
Kallusky, who shot a 38 for 23 points for highest points honors
this week.
Though the Leftovers are currently in last place with 101 points
for the second half, Greg Mayberry and Scottie Davis both shot
an even par, contributing 20 and 19 points, respectively.
Other high scorers for the week included Ted Cotti of Forrest
Gumps and Never Up, Never In's Rick Bevilacqua, each of whom
posted 22 points. Tyson York, Carl Henard, Terry Gustafson, Mark
Sauer and Steve Streich each contributed 21 points to their teams'
scores.
Gustafson, of the Sambaggers, also captured the low gross title
for the week with a two-under-par 34. He was followed by Jacob
Lusk, York, Barkeley Martin and Bevilacqua, each of whom posted
a 35.
The Sundowners play at the Soule Park Golf Course on Tuesdays
during the summer months.
