Britannia Soccer Camp back at OVS
by Misty Volaski

For the 21st year in a row, the Britannia Soccer Camp will be held at Ojai Valley School.
Taught by English coaches, attendees will improve their playing skills and develop team tactics.
In past camps, kids from all over have flocked to OVS at the end of July to get a chance to learn under some of England's top soccer players. This year's coaches include Steve Hoffman of theUnited States, a license coach who was also a former professional player.
Of the camp, Hoffman said, "The players will participate in fundamental skill and advancement sessions. We have emphasized tactical play and correct technique, and everyone enjoys a very full day of soccer."
Graham Smith, current pro player in England, will be coaching, as well. Smith holds a full license from the Football Association and was a staff coach at Lilleshall, the National Soccer Headquarters in England.
"Every player is given a detailed evaluation from their coach. Everyone improves and everyone has fun doing it," said Mike Hall-Mounsey, Britannia Soccer Camp director and OVS lower campus headmaster.
The week-long coaching session will begin July 28 and run through Aug. 2, for girls and boys ages 7 to 15. There will also be a Junior Camper program for players ages 5 to 7, which will begin July 29.
Though the camp is a day camp, boarding is available in the OVS dorms. Space is limited, so call OVS at 646-1423 to reserve a spot.
