Martinez, Mercado command win in two-man scramble

It was no surprise to see John Martinez and Pete Mercado at the top of the weekly Soule Senior Men's Golf tournament - the two have consistently made it into the top positions in the first flight over the summer.
The following are the complete results of the Aug. 12 Soule Park Senior Men's Golf Club tournament. The contest was held in a two-man scramble format.

First flight
· First place, John Martinez and Pete Mercado, posting a combined score of 55.5.
· Second place, Terry G. Clifford and Jim Lane, posting a combined score of 57.

Second flight:
· First place, Robert McPherson and Brian Whitney, posting a combined score of 54.
· Second place, Bob Buyll and Bruce Rehwoldt, posting a combined score of 56.5.
Third flight
· First place, Rex S. Wells and Burt Wigton, posting a combined score of 57.
· Second-place tie between Jim Brothman and Robert L. Willey, and Leo B. Jennings and Louis Liddi, posting a combined score of 57.

Fourth flight:
· First place, William H. Horton and Ernest H. Nichols, posting a combined score of 49.5.
· Second place, Gil Galaraza and Sonny Mahon, posting a combined score of 51.
