Ranger golfer girls win 2 of 3
by Misty Volaski

La reina means "the queen" in Spanish - and La Reina High School proved its power at Soule Park Golf Course last week when the squad bested Nordhoff's Lady Rangers, 227-255.
NHS's Jody Peter, who swung for a 41, posted the lowest score for Nordhoff. Close behind was Kristin Johnson, who posted a 42. Lauren Stafford rounded out the top three with a 52, which coach Dick Sebek said "was really good for her. She played well."
Nordhoff came back with two straight wins against, first Fillmore (251-264) and then Oaks Christian (278-319).
Johnson topped the Rangers against Fillmore with a four-over-par 40 at Soule. Peter logged a 44, followed by Stafford, who posted a 52.
At Sunset Hills, Nordhoff played Oaks Christian, winning by a substantial margin. Though it was not the team's best day (Johnson posted a 44 and Peter had a 46), the Lady Rangers still upped their overall record to 8-3.
Nordhoff, currently in second place in the Frontier League, will host Malibu Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
