· A reader sends a thumbs-up to Officer Bell of the Ojai Police Department. The reader was pulled over for rolling through a stop sign and was given a warning - not a ticket. The reader was very impressed with Bell's professionalism and dedication to duty. He went a long way to assuage the reputation of the Ojai Police Department going overboard with ticket writing.

· A reader sends a thumbs-up to the construction man who left out two old garage doors for free pickup if anyone wanted them. The National Search Dog Foundation took the doors to use in training puppies in search situations.

· A reader sends a thumbs-way-up to the Eagles cheerleader who gave up her seat on the very full Mira Monte trolley Friday aftenoon to a senior lady. Bravo!

· A reader sends a big thumbs-up to the cast and crew of "Guys and Dolls" for a great opening weekend at the Art Center. You guys are so fantastic! Thanks for a wonderful evening of entertainment.

· A reader sends a thumbs-down for letting unleashed dogs run over at Besant Meadow, ruining the meadow for other people who are leashing our dogs - to the two young teenage girls whose boxer attacked her dog, she knows who you are.

· A reader sends a thumbs-down to the OVN and its reporter, Lenny Roberts, for repeatedly misrepresenting who the author of Measure C is. As the OVN is fully aware, the author of Measure C is land use attorney Andrew Gustafson. Yellow journalism is alive and well in Ojai.
