NHS spikers
ready for CIF
by Misty Volaski
It's been many years, but Nordhoff's Lady Ranger volleyball
team finally had all the ingredients to gain top league honors
this year. Coach Renee Nakao-Mauch attributes this to their never-say-die
attitude.
"These girls don't give up," she said. "They'll
fight to the end."
At the CIF level, Nakao-Mauch said that Nordhoff's biggest advantage
is its height and back row players. However, "It took all
of them to get here," she added.
The girls faced La Cañada last night in the CIF playoff
opener, though results were unavailable as of press time. A win
there would mean a chance to play the winner of the Harvard Westlake/
Bishop Armat game in the CIF-SS quarter finals.
