Peter, Johnson to tee off
in CIF individuals
by Misty Volaski
Dick Sebek has a lot to be proud of in his girls' golf team.
With a relatively young team in comparison to recent squads,
Sebek and his Lady Rangers made it all the way to the CIF girls'
golf playoffs.
The team traveled to the Santa Barbara Golf Club for the CIF
Northern Team Divisionals. The course was a par 72.
Nordhoff took 15th place overall, "something they're proud
of," said Sebek.
Senior Lady ranger Jody Peter set the pace with a score of 90,
while good friend and teammate Kristin Johnson posted a 94.
Ranger Breann Keller came in third for Nordhoff with a score
of 109. Joanne Wang and Lauren Stafford rounded out the Nordhoff
scores with a 115 and a 121, respectively.
Their scores gave Nordhoff a collective posting of 529.
Both Peter and Johnson, consistently Nordhoff's top girls' golfers,
will advance to the CIF individual finals, which will be played
at Mission Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert, which took place
earlier this week.
Results of the match were not available at press time, but will
appear in next Wednesday's paper.
