· A reader sends a thumbs-up to the unknown lady in the dark Volvo who delivered her lost cane to her at the Ojai Avenue and Bristol Road stoplight. She hopes to thank her in person one day.

· A reader sends a thumbs-up to Dolores Keith for her letter describing why she and many others work to bring about peaceful resolution of conflicts in all areas of life. Many others work hard so many others can demonstrate tirelessly.

· A reader sends a thumbs-up to the Matilija Junior High School chorus for placing third in the Choral Magic competition at Magic Mountain on Nov. 2. Great job, Mr. Orser and students!

· A reader sends a thumbs-up to the Nordhoff High School girls' volleyball team for its Frontier League Championship. Play hard in CIF! Congratulations to the team and coaches, Rene Nakao-Mauch and Chris Bohney!

· A reader sends a thumbs-up to Rhadco Plumbing for coming through in a dire time of need and not charging insane prices on the weekends.

· The Oakland school teacher visiting Ojai sends a thumbs-up to the woman on Fulton/Pearl Street who found her misplaced wallet, researched owner's name and returned the wallet intact. Honesty still lives in Ojai!

· A reader sends a thumbs-down to people who advocate violence and hatred based on ignorance and fear.

· A reader sends a thumbs-down to those who ride their bikes in the new park, running their front tires up onto the walls and rocks. It's disgusting to see such bold disregard for public property.

· A reader sends a thumbs-down to a local restaurant which clearly labels itself as "cell phone free," but on at least two occasions recently did nothing to enforce their policy, much to the discomfort of other diners.
