Events benefit NHS trip to perform at Carnegie

The Ojai Community Chorus presented a check for $6,500 to the Nordhoff High School Music Department to benefit their Ojai at Carnegie 2003 performances.
This check represents the proceeds from the "Ojai Sings Messiah" concerts held early in December. The Ojai Community Chorus and MAESTRO boards thank the community for its generous support of this opportunity for the young musicians of Ojai.
The community is invited to attend two additional events to support the Ojai at Carnegie 2003 trip. On Wednesday at 7:30 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the California State University-Long Beach Choir and Norhoff's A Cappella Singers will perform in a free concert with donations being accepted. On Jan. 23 at 7 p.m., jazz and trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson and his band will take the stage in the Nordhoff Gymnasium.
Opening the concert will be the award-winning Nordhoff Jazz Band.
Tickets are $15 regular and $12 for seniors and students. Call 640-4343, Ext. 166, for more information.
