Lawrence David "Larry" Briggs

Lawrence David "Larry" Briggs, 58, of Ojai, died at home Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, after fighting a battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 31, 1945 in New Orleans, La., to Bernice and Clarence Briggs. He grew up in South Pasadena, Calif.
For the past 17 years, Mr. Briggs owned and operated the O-Hi Frostie until its sale in October of 2002.
His interests included antiques and collectables and classic cars. Many will remember him as the guy around town in the white 1968 Chevy truck.
He is survived by his wife, Rene Briggs, of Ojai; sons Chris Briggs of Newport Beach, and Loc Briggs of Denver, Colo.; daughter Maren Briggs of Ojai; granddaughter Maeve Briggs of Ojai; his mother, Bernice Briggs, of Ojai; and twin brother Leonard Briggs of Monrovia.
Memorials may be made to the Ojai Valley Museum or Help of Ojai.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai.
