Rangers knock out Normans in first round
By Misty Volaski

When Nordhoff's girls' soccer squad took to the field against Beverly Hills, the daunting fact was that the Normans had won their last seven games.
"They're a very hot team right now," said NHS coach Pete Christl.

However, Nordhoff sped ahead with an early lead in the first half with a goal off a penalty kick by Ally Taylor. Nordhoff led by one at the end of the first half, outshooting the Normans, 14 attempts on goal to three.

Their 1-0 lead ended in the second half, when a goal by Beverly Hills tied the game.
"We appeared to have the game under control in the second half," said Christl, but Beverly Hills gave the Rangers a run for their money before the Rangers came back with two more goals to win the game, 3-1.
Ana Levin and Sarah Stoltz each netted a goal for Nordhoff.

Last year, Atascadero knocked Nordhoff out of the CIF playoffs in the first round.
Nordhoff played Los Angeles Baptist (No. 2 in the Olympic League) yesterday at L.A. Baptist.
Results of the game were unavailable as of press time. See cifss.org for games scores.
