Man jailed after pursuit

Gabriel Eli Foster, 32-year-old transient, was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a 20-minute foot pursuit through Meiners Oaks back yards.

According to the report, Foster was initially approached by Deputy Victor Medina because he had misemeanor warrants for being under the influence of a controlled substance and petty theft.

Sheriff's Detective Mark Hara said Foster was eventually arrested in the 300 block of Lomita Avenue after several patrol untis set up a perimeter.

In addition to the warrant arrest. Foster was booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
