Women's softball starts June 19
The Ojai Valley Women's Softball League is taking sign-ups for the summer 2003 season. League play will commence on June 19. Games will be played on Thursday evenings at Sarzotti park and teams of all levels are invited to join. The fee is $325 per team. Call Rene Ellis at 640-0199 for more information.

Sign up your kids for AYSO May 17, 21
AYSO soccer registration for players and volunteers wil be held at Sarzotti Park Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and May 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The league is open to all children born between Aug. 31, 1984 and Jan. 1, 1999. All new players must bring proof of age. A rating session will take place while at registration.
The cost of registration is $65 per child. Late registration, to be held in June, is slightly more.
The registration fee includes full uniform and insurance. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.

Bicycle to Mount Piños Saturday
For the 30th year in a row, a pack of bicyclists will embark on a demanding 100-mile ride from Ventura to the summit of Mount Piños.
The riders will leave the Teen Challenge property on Ventura Avenue Saturday at 7 a.m. The event ends at 7 p.m. after a Teen Challenge-sponsored dinner at the Mount Piños Summit.
The Humane Society of Ventura County is a participating charity for the second year.
The local nonprofit organization will host a team of relay riders and will staff an aid station along the course.
Other charities participating in the event include Catholic Charities, Habitat for Humanity, Project Understanding, Forest Home-Ojai and Young Life.
Anyone is welcome to ride in the event. The registration fee is $20 and minimum pledges of $25 are requested.
