Sewer line costs focus of June 18 meeting
By Kelly Feser Eells

The Ojai Valley Sanitary District invites all Arbolada and Foothill Road residents to a public meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m., at the Matilija Junior High School auditorium, to discuss the feasibility of "going online" - the sewer line, that is.

"We'll have much more accurate information," said District Manager John Correa, referring to an earlier public meeting.

Foothill and Arbolada-area residents are on a septic tank system, and while initial surveys indicated that many property owners were interested in "upgrading" to a sewer system, a number of others surveyed were "happy with the way things are."

Per household costs, as well as a step-by-step breakdown of what the project would entail, will be presented at the June 18 meeting. "We'll be able to determine whether the community really wants to be sewered or not," said Correa.
