b-ball tourney
By Etienne Emmanuel
After an outstanding performance
in the USA Junior National all-state high school basketball competition,
T.J. Murphy, who is currently a junior at Nordhoff High School,
has been invited to participate in the prestigious USA Junior
National Championship Sports Festival on July 7 through 13, in
Columbus, Ohio.
"The tryout was held at UCSB There were a lot of good players.
Hopefully I get a chance to play against a high level of competition
and get some exposure, so that some schools can see me play,"
said Murphy.
Based in Madison, Wisc., the USA Junior Nationals provides one
of the top amateur competitions in the United States. It offers
its program to all athletes who have a high interest in basketball,
and to those who are interested in developing their skills and
