Front Nine golfers complete first season at
Soule
To celebrate the completion of the first Front Nine women's mini-golf
league, the members met at Soule Park Sunday night for an awards
dinner.
Winners from the last mini-tournament on June 11 were announced
at the dinner. Coming in first with a net 82 in the partner's
tournament were Michelle Messecar and Karen McGinnis. Sharing
the second-place prize were Carole Borland and Mitnee Duque.
Claiming third were Rachel McCollum and Kathy Tighe.
The closest-to-the-pin and the
longest drive (239 yards) of the day awards went to Messecar.
Other players recognized at the meeting were McCollum for overall
lowest handicap and lowest gross. Secretary-Treasurer for the
league, Bonnie Griffin, was named most improved. Special thanks
were given to Soule Park general manager Don Miller and club
pro Tyson York for their support and encouragement.
Club members agreed to host another 10-week league, which will
start July 2 and continue through Sept. 3. New members are welcome.
Each Wednesday will be a complete nine-hole tournament and each
player may choose to compete in a tournament of the day, or simply
play for fun to establish their handicap.
Applications are now being accepted for the second round of Front
Nine. Call the Soule Park pro shop at 646-5633 to secure a starting
time. New members may also apply for membership on this first
day of play to get the special league rate. Membership is $25
for the 10-week tournament play, two free clinics and an end-of-the-season
dinner.
For more information call Duque at 646-6788.
