ORD offers Youth Indoor Soccer
League
The Ojai Recreation Department will be holding an indoor soccer
league for youths in two divisions: fourth- to sixth-grade and
seventh- to ninth-grade. The league will play Fridays, at either
7:15 or 8:30 p.m., in the ORD gym today through Aug. 8.
The cost is $20 per player, ($23 if nonresident), with a maximum
of 32 players per division. Call 646-1872 for more information

Play tennis at the OVI
Coming up on July 5, from 8 to 11 a.m. the Ojai Valley Inn &
Spa will hold an Independence Weekend Tennis Round Robin.
It's a changing-partners-each-round format for advanced beginner
and intermediate level adult players. The cost is $5 per person,
which covers refreshments, match balls and prizes from Prince
Racquet Sports.
Players should contact the Pro Shop at 640-2109 to reserve a
spot.
ORD Adult Basketball leagues start July 7
Adult basketball leagues at the Ojai Recreation Department start
July 7. The C League plays Monday nights, while the 35-plus league
plays Tuesdays, at either 7:15, 8:15 or 9:15 p.m. Each team is
guaranteed at least 11 games.
The fee is $200 per team plus a $20 referee fee per game.
Each division is limited to six teams; registration deadline
is July 1. A manager's meeting will be held July 2 at 8 p.m.

Score in ORD Five-A-Side Soccer
Tournament
The Ojai Recreation Department will host a Men's and Women's
Open Five-A-Side Soccer Tournament Saturday at Matilija Junior
High School.
The cost is $100 per team, plus a $10-per-game referee fee. Everyone
is guaranteed three games on 40-by-60-yard fields with 6-by-10-foot
goals. Register early to guarantee your teams' spot. Call 646-1872.
Learn with Cotti at girls'
basketball camp
The Run With Coach Cotti Girls' Basketball Camp will be held
at Nordhoff High School from Monday to July 3. Camp begins at
9 a.m. and ends at noon each day. The camp is aimed at girls
ages 7 to 15.
The camp will focus on fundamentals of the game, including footwork,
ball handling, shooting and defense. There will be individual
instruction by Nordhoff coaches as well as past and present varsity
players. There will be daily scrimmages and daily prizes. At
the end of camp there will be an awards ceremony.
Each camper receives a T-shirt and a basketball. The fee is $110
after June 16.
Proceeds will go to benefit Nordhoff's girls' basketball program.
