Run with Coach Cotti
b-ball camp a success
By Misty Volaski

The Run with Coach Cotti Ojai Girls' Basketball Camp, held at Matilija Junior High gymnasium last week, proved to be a success.

There were 22 girls between the ages of 7 and 14 who participated in the inaugural basketball camp.

Coaches included Nordhoff girls' basketball coach and teacher Ted Cotti and ex-Ranger boys' basketball star Matt Murphy - who has currently accepted the assistant boys' basketball position at Villanova Preparatory. Current NHS Lady Ranger players Alison Bennett, Sarah Nylander, Sasha O'Brien and Ariane Roach also lent their teaching skills to the camp.

The main focus of the camp, said Cotti, was fundamentals, but was also meant to be fun.

It included a camp free throw, three ball, one-on-one and five-on-five championship. Every camper received a T-shirt and a basketball.
The camp was sponsored by Giorgio's Sports Deli.

Proceeds will benefit the Nordhoff girls' basketball program.
