ORD activities busy this week

Surf Safari Camp
Surfing Safari Camp offers newcomers and more experienced surfers alike a chance to get in the water and fine-tune their basic surfing skills. The camp starts next Monday and runs throughout the week till Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Ages 9 to 15 are welcome. Participants must be strong swimmers in the ocean. All equipment and transportation will be provided by ORD. Surf camp has several sessions throughout the summer. The fee for each session is $150.

Mini Sports
For those interested in giving their children a head-start on sports, this camp, designed for ages 4 to 7, gives kids the chance to learn basic skills of several different sports.
Camp begins July 14 and runs through July 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Ojai Recreation Department. The fee is $65 per child.

Youth Beginners and Intermediates Tennis
Beginning tomorrow and running through July 24, the ORD will offer beginner's and intermediate's youth tennis lessons. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday. Beginners times: 3:15 to 4 p.m. Intermediates: 4 to 5 p.m. Ages 8 and older (for beginners) and 10 and older (for intermediates) are welcome to attend the lessons, taught at the lower Libbey tennis courts by Diane Molsberry. The cost is $30 per participant. Thanks to the support of the Youth Tennis Foundation, scholarships are available.

Youth Five-A-Side Soccer Tournament
This Saturday, bring your youth soccer team out to Sarzotti Park for a day of five-on-five competition. Teams are guaranteed three games, and individual trohpies will be awarded to first- and second-place teams.
The cost is $100 per team, plus a $5 per game referee fee.
Divisions are as follows:
· Boys and girls under 8
· Boys and girls under 10
· Boys and girls under 12
· Boys and girls under 15

Youth Table Sports
Teens can enjoy an evening of table sports in the ORD game room Fridays from 6 to 11 p.m., and Saturday nights from 6 to 8 p.m.

Drop-In Tennis Games and Clinics
The fee is $10, though USTA scholarships are available.
Drop-in tennis clinics are ongoing throughout the summer. There's no need to pre-register, just show up with $10 to the lower Libbey tennis courts on Tuesdays (for men) or Thursdays (for women) from 6 to 7 p.m.
Drop-in play is also available Mondays at the lower Libbey courts, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Games will be played in a round robin format, for both men and women. The cost is $5 per evening.
