The Nordhoff Lady Ranger softball team is right in the mix for a post-season berth once again this spring. As NHS heads into crunch time, the girls are currently 6-8-1 overall and 3-2 in Tri-Valley League action.

Nationals are the next goal for Lake Casitas Rowers

04172014 casitas rowersThe Casitas Rowing Team recently made the trip to San Diego for a day of racing, and made its first junior final in the International Race the San Diego Crew Classic. The team was comprised of Jimmy Byrne (from left), James Mcbride, Ojai resident Ben Cassidy, Ojai resident Spencer Solano, Cole Bindus, Ojai resident Mark Town, Jack Beguelin, Luc Landry and Emma Bangs. Mataisz Memorial golf contest set for May 31

The 25th annual George Mataisz Memorial Golf Tournament and social event is scheduled for May 31. The Mataisz Memorial serves as the main fundraiser for the Nordhoff High School golf programs. NHS head coach and event organizer Dick Sebek recently announced that the field will be limited to 60 players, so interested participants should plan accordingly.

The Rangers will host St. Bonaventure this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. They’ll conclude their season series on Friday at St. Bonaventure. Both programs are in need of league victories. Tennis clinic sharpens Ojai juniors' skills

Promising local youth tennis players of all ages were personally selected by area tennis coaches to participate in the ninth annual Ojai High Performance Tennis Clinic, a free event sponsored by the Ojai Valley Tennis Club (OVTC). The exclusive clinic was organized and managed by Craig Fugle and coached by some of the most skilled tennis professionals in the valley.

April 3 saw a small but enthusiastic group of Double Duffers Golf Club members turn out for the club’s monthly golf tournament. The format was the usual four-person scramble, but several of the fours had to be trimmed down to teams of threes.

Postseason awards roll in for Nordhoff's soccer teams

After winning its first-ever CIF-Southern Section championship this season, the Nordhoff boys’ soccer program has earned a plethora of postseason awards to cap their historic season. The CIF-SS recently announced that senior midfielder Conor Daly was named the Division 7 Most Valuable Player. NHS head coach Robert Garcia was also recognized by his peers as he earned CIF-SS Division 7 Coach of the Year honors.
