Sarzotti hosts sports action this week
Got nothing to do tonight? Check out Sarzotti Park, which has several softball and basketball games going on throughout the week.
There will be a Teen Fitness Center benefit softball tournament tomorrow, going on all day at Sarzotti Park.
Also, throughout the summer on Mondays and Tuesdays the Ojai Recreation Department hosts coed softball leagues, featuring some of Ojai's best athletes, including several Nordhoff grads who made waves in the Frontier League before playing at the ORD.
The Ojai Valley Women's Softball league plays Thursday nights. The Ojai Valley Men's Softball Association also plays throughout the week and weekend.

Surf camp teaches basics on a board
This week and every week this summer, the Ojai Recreation Department will host a youth Summer Surf Safari class.
Held at beaches all over the county (depending on the surf), the next class will start Monday and end next Friday. Classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the vans leave at 8:30 a.m. from the Boyd Center. Ages 9 to 15 are welcome for the course, and tuition is $150 per five-day session. Call the Ojai Recreation Department at 646-1872 for more information.

Kids ages 5 to 8 can participate in the Discovery Day Camp, which is much the same as its counterpart, yet specifically designed for younger children.
Both camps run throughout the summer. The cost is $90 per week for full day (7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.), $60 for half day (either 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or 12:30 to 6 p.m. The daily rate is $25. Call 646-1872 for more information.
