Police Blotter for the week ending August 22, 2003

REPORTED CRIMES
An identity theft was reported on July 23 in which an unknown suspect willfully obtained personal identification information of another and used it for unlawful purposes.

A vehicle's rear window was reported smashed at Bald Street and Ojai Avenue on Aug. 5.
An unknown suspect reportedly vandalized a property at the 500 block of Lion Street on Aug. 6, forcing open a doorway and breaking a doorjamb.

Nearly $1,000 worth of liquor, including two bottles of Patron tequila, was reported stolen from a local bar and restaurant on Aug. 10.

A locked storage unit at Casitas Self Storage was reported burglarized of over $2,000 worth of electronics and photography equipment on Aug. 10.

A vehicle was reported spray-painted on Aug. 17 at the 900 block of West Ojai Avenue.

A vehicle's window was reported broken at the 100 block of Fox Street on Aug. 18.

A vehicle's rear window was reported smashed in at the corner of El Plano Drive and Lomita on Aug. 18.

CITES AND ARRESTS
A Ventura man was arrested on Aug. 12 at the corner of Ojai Avenue and Signal Street for suspicion of public intoxication and alleged possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

A Mountain View man was arrested at his residence in Oak View on Aug. 13 for alleged possession of a hypodermic needle and suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $10,000.

A Felix Drive man was cited and released on Aug. 15 for alleged reckless driving and driving on a restricted license on Baldwin Road.

A transient woman was arrested on Ojai Avenue on Aug. 15 in conjunction with several outstanding warrants for various parole violations, public intoxication and failure to appear. She was medically cleared, then booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. Bail was set at $20,000.

A transient man was arrested on Aug. 15 in Libbey Park for warrants for failure to appear and probation violations and for suspected trespassing and for allegedly resisting arrest. Bail was set at $10,000.

An Encinal Drive man and woman were arrested on Aug. 15 at their residence for alleged felony possession of a controlled substance and suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $16,000 each.

A Grande Vista Road man was arrested on Highway 33 near Encino Drive on Aug. 15 for alleged possession of a smoking device and suspicion of being under the influence. The man, who sported a swastika tattoo, complained of herniated testicles at the time of arrest. Bail was set at $6,000.

A Casitas Springs man was arrested at his residence on Aug. 16 for two warrants, a violation of parole and failure to appear. Bail was set at $11,000.

An Ash Lane woman was arrested outside the Ojai Valley Community Hospital on Aug. 17 for alleged possession of prescription medication without a prescription and for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $10,000.

A Lomita Drive man was arrested at the Ojai Valley Community Hospital on August 17 for allegedly being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $5,000.

A Drown Street man was arrested on Grand Avenue for alleged trespassing on August 17. Bail was set at $1,000.

A Lomita man was arrested at his residence on August 18 on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and in conjunction with a warrant for forgery in San Luis Obispo. Bail was set at $11,000.

A Santa Barbara man was arrested on August 18 on Baldwin Road near Burnham in conjunction with warrants for allegedly being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Bail was set at $10,000.
