OST tops Ojai softball action

Men's League, Division 2
BIP, 15
Joe's Quick Stop, 6
BIP achieved a win against Joe's thanks mainly to their stellar
performance in the third inning, where they drove home 10 players
to Joe's single run. After the fourth, where BIP scored four
more, BIP sealed itself into the win.
OST, 28
Pat's Liquor, 11
OST drowned Pat's in their own liquor in this, picking up nine
runs in the second and 10 runs in the fifth inning. Though Pat's
started admirably, earning all their runs in the first through
thids innings, the mercy rule was called in the fifth to end
the game.
OST, 15
Joe's Quick Stop, 7
OST scored seven runs in the second inning and five in the bottom
of the sixth to seal the deal. Rocky Colborn went 3-4 with a
double and two RBIs. Doug Hamlet was 3-4 with an RBI.
OST, 15
Silver Bullets, 10
OST also played the Silver Bullets, beating them 15-10. A six-run
first inning and four more runs in the fourth propelled OST to
the win. John O'Connor went 3-4 and Scotty Beepler went 4-4 with
a home run, a double and four RBIs.
Head Trip, 14
Joe's Quick Stop, 11
Joe's Quick Stop lost to Head Trip by a score of 14-11. Head
Trip scored 10 runs in the first three innings to set the pace.
They were led by Lalo Perez, who went 2-3. Justin Bracamonte
hit two home runs for the losing team, driving in four runs.
Silver Bullets, 17
BIP, 9
The Silver Bullets beat up on BIP by a score of 17-9. The Silver
Bullets scored in the first six innings, plating five in the
first and four more in the third. They were led by Randy Villa,
who went 4-5 with a home run and 3 RBI.
Head Trip, 21
Ojai Merchants, 10
Head Trip managed to score 21 times in its match up with Ojai
Merchants, winning by 11 runs. Dave Barger led the victors with
a perfect 4-4 performance that included three doubles. Howie
Gonzales put forth a heroic effort in the loss, driving in five
runs on a single and three doubles.
Head Trip, 7
BIP, 0
Head Trip put up a valiant effort, shutting out BIP on Aug. 15,
7-0 by virtue of forfeiture. The win put them in second place
in the league's final standings.
OST, 20
Pat's Liquor, 11
Pat's Liquor went down at the hands of OST, 20-11. OST, which
won the league championship with the win, scored 17 runs in the
first four innings alone.
Women's League
Husted Maytag, 7
Just Us Again, 2
Nordhoff graduate Lacey Albrent dominated for Husted, going
a perfect four for four on the day, helping her team to six runs
in the fifth inning alone.
Ojai Pizza Divas, 5
Just Us Again, 4
Just Us was slighted again, this time by the Divas, who scored
all five runs in the fifth inning after trailing by four for
most of the game. Just Us scored all four runs in the first inning.
T.A.C.T., 6
Hit and Miss, 2
T.A.C.T. tacked up another win, thanks in part to Laura Kaiser
and Vickie Newton's strong at-bat skills. Despite Hit & Miss's
Kathy Hamlet and Anna Lewis's three-for-three performances, T.A.C.T.
took it home, 6-2
