Ojai Twirlers to Perform at NBA Game

The Ojai Twirlers participated in the Baton Twirling Spectacular at Disneyland in conjunction with Disneyland's Music Days Celebration on June 29. Hundreds of baton twirlers from all areas of California performed in a special parade. Twirlers at that performance, pictured above, include: Danielle Ponce, Grace VanNess, Savanna Mountan, Mariah Lotts, Erin Kobrin, Taylor Silverman, Patricia Boyd, Grace Miller and Amanda Mountan. This fall, The Ojai Twirlers will perform at a Clippers game during a halftime show. A new session of baton twirling will start Sept. 19 and will run every Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Ojai Recreation Department's small gymnasium. The six-week session costs $70 (baton not included). Batons may be purchased from instructor Gordy Silverman for an additional $18. Instructors are also looking to form a teen twirling group for various public performances. Call 646-1872 to sign up.
