REPORTED CRIMES
Two dufflel bags containing clothing, tape cassettes, CDs and
books were reportedly taken from the bed of a pickup truck in
the 1100 block of East Ojai Avenue Dec. 13. The loss was listed
at $2,580.
An ammunition box, flashlight, tools and leather gloves were
reportedly taken from a vehicle in the 200 block of Valle Rio
Avenue Dec. 13. The loss was listed at $49.
Numerous calls were received from many locations in the Ojai
Valley late on Christmas Eve reporting the suspicious activities
of an old man in a red suit. Most callers stated that the man,
after leaving the rooftops of several area homes, was seen climbing
into an ornate sleigh led by nine reindeer, which then flew north
through the night sky. The investigation continues.
CITES AND ARRESTS
A transient woman was arrested on West Ojai Avenue Dec. 13 for
allegedly camping in public and on five $5,000 misdemeanor warrants.
An Oak View Avenue woman was arrested in Oak View Dec. 17 on
suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Bail was set at $5,000.
A transient man was cited and released on West Ojai Avenue for
allegedly camping in public.
A transient man was arrested on East Ojai Avenue Dec. 18 on a
$5,000 warrant for public intoxication.
A Ventura woman was arrested in Oak View Dec. 20 on suspicion
of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail
was set at $5,000.
A West Ojai Avenue man was arrested at his residence Dec. 2 for
allegedly resisting arrest. Bail was set at $5,000.
A Lomita Avenue woman was arrested in Oak View Dec. 20 on suspicion
of being under the influence of and possessing a controlled substance,
medication without a prescription and possession of an injection
device. Bail was set at $22,500.
A Montgomery Street woman was arrested at Libbey Park Dec. 21
on a $5,000 drug-related warrant.
A Mountain View Avenue man was arrested at his residence Dec.
21 for allegedly possessing a controlled substance and an injection
device. Bail was set at $12,500.
A Fillmore man was arrested in the downtown area on suspicion
of public intoxication. Bail was set at $1,000.
A transient man who gave Camp Comfort as his address was arrested
on Creek Road Dec. 21 on suspicion of evading arrest. Bail was
set at $5,000.
An El Conejo Avenue man was cited and released in Meiners Oaks
for allegedly possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.
A Burnham Road man was arrested in Oak View on suspicion of driving
under the influence after he allegedly struck a marked County
Sheriff's patrol car at the Government Center in Ventura. Bail
was set at $5,300.
