The Ojai Valley News welcomes e-mailed guest editorials.
Guest editorials must address issues that directly concern the Ojai Valley and its citizens and should not exceed 500-600 words in length.
Editorials must contain passion or strong emotion on a topic and most are written to evoke change. The writer should state a point, itemize the researched pros and cons of the issue and draw a conclusion that would call fellow residents to action.
Submissions MUST include your name, city and telephone number for verification. Submissions without this information will not be considered.
A sentence about yourself must also be submitted which details your qualifications for writing a guest editorial. For example: John Jones is a longtime Ojai resident who was a member of the City Council for six terms. Or Cindy Jones has lived in the Ojai Valley for five years and advocates bicycle safety awareness for youngsters.
Guest editorials should be either submitted in the context of the e-mail, or as an attachment in MS Word either in Mac or PC platforms. If you compose your editorial using a different word processing application, please save it as TEXT before attaching it to your e-mail. Email your guest editorial
