Get teams together now for 2003 softball leagues
Do you have a group that would like to play in the Ojai Recreation Department Mini Softball League, men's or coed division?
The next league begins Feb. 2. This is a six-week program with 12-plus games.
The cost is $250 per team, plus a $12 per game umpire fee.
The Men's League plays Sunday afternoons, with the Coed C Division playing Monday nights, and Coed B Division on Tuesday nights.

OVGSA softball sign-ups start
Ojai Valley Girls' Softball Association is holding three days of tryouts and signups for the upcoming 2003 season.
The dates, all on Saturdays, are as follows:
· Jan. 11
· Jan. 18
· Jan. 25
Rating times are as follows:
· Seventh and eighth grades: 10 a.m.
· Fifth and sixth grades: 11 a.m.
· Third and forth grades: 12 p.m.
Ratings and sign ups will take place at Nordhoff High School on the girls' softball fields. There are no ratings for T-ball or first and second grades, but these players must still come on one of the aformentioned dates to sign up.
Opening day will be March 1.

Team personal training offered at ORD Fitness Center
The Ojai Recreation Department is offering a TPT class Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 to 8 a.m., starting Jan. 6 and ending Jan. 27. Instructor Breena Maggio, ACSM certified, will teach you how to become self-motivated through exercises like yoga, Pilates, stability ball, etc.
The price of $100 includes a free private consultation with the trainer. The class is limited to eight people, so early sign-ups are encouraged to reserve your place. Call 646-1872 for more information and to sign up.

Learn to twirl that baton in style
Kids ages 6 and older are welcome to join Carol Lotts and Gordy Silverman in this fun and educational class on baton twirling.
Instructors will teach you basic twirling skills, a parade march routine and later will lead the class in a recital.
Classes begin Jan. 17 and end Feb. 21. The cost is $65 for six weeks of classes on Fridays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the ORD.

Learn to golf at the O.V. Inn & Spa
Learn the game of golf at a world-class resort beginning Jan. 6 though Feb. 3. The program is designed for everyone.
Anyone age 12 to adult is welcome to attend these Monday classes. Jeff Johnson and the experienced staff of the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa will teach you to swing with the best of them. No equipment is necessary.
The fee is $95 for five weeks of classes.

Lake Casitas stocked with trout
Lake Casitas was recently stocked with 2,000 pounds of rainbow trout. The catchable sized trout, weighing approximately 1 pound each, come from the Calaveras Trout Farm.
