Water will be topic of two meetings this week

Bill Warner, Ojai Valley News reporter

Ojai Valley's water shortage will receive public discussion and debate this week.

The Ojai City Council and the Casitas Municipal Water District (CMWD) Board of Directors have the topic on their meeting agendas.

Finding new sources of water will be one of the main topics to be discussed.

“We have to look at this as a community need in which the community should participate,” said Ojai City Councilman Randy Haney. The community will have an early chance at public comment when the Council meets Aug. 23. Item 4 on that agenda calls for a discussion on the city's role in water conservation and use.
