'Mr. Ojai' David Mason passes away at 78

Ojai historian David Mason passed away July 22 after a long battle with emphysema.
He was 78.
According to longtime friend Joan Kemper, Mason died at his home in Ojai with family and friends by his side, one week and a day after his 78th birthday.
Kemper said Mason was well-known and well-loved in the community.
He was born in Ojai in 1939 and lived outside the valley only once, while serving in the Air Force.
