Paint job particulars lead to recovery of stolen car

Sometimes, community vigilance means a missing vehicle can be recovered about as quickly as it was stolen, as Meiners Oaks taxidermist Chuck Testa and his wife, Wendy, found out this week. The Meiners Oaks couple returned from a two-hour outing March 14 to discover their 2002 Toyota Camry had vanished during the time they were away.
“We immediately reported it stolen,” Chuck said. Initially, he added, the officer who responded from the Ojai Police Department was not optimistic. “The deputy said it was probably somewhere in the valley by now.”
