More rain on the way: Previous storms still not enough for diversions

A week of wet weather brought between an inch and 2 inches of rain to the Ojai Valley, but caused no major problems, officials said.
The area received intermittent rainfall, ranging from a light drizzle to moderate rain, March 11 through March 14.
Rain totals over the four days included 1.11 inches at Casitas Dam, 1.26 inches at Fire Station 22 in Meiners Oaks and 2.08 inches at Matilija Dam, according to the Ventura County Watershed Protection District (WPD).
On Highway 33, Bob Kilpatrick, Ojai area supervisor for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), reported snow over Pine Mountain Summit March 14 and March 15, but the snow wasn't sticking and no chain controls were in effect.
“Apart from some rocks in the roadway, it was uneventful,” he said.
With skies clearing, Kilpatrick anticipated icy conditions on the highway overnight March 15 and March 16, and more rockfall from the next storm arriving March 16.
