Crews from Asplundh Tree Expert Company were trimming trees along Highway 33 at the Villanova curve on Monday. The work, contracted by Southern California Edison, is aimed at keeping branches away from power lines and minimizing the risk of fire. According to Rudy Gonzales, a spokesman for SCE, the work will be going on for the next few weeks, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect for at least part of the work, so motorists should plan for delays.
