A cat that went missing more than seven years ago is back with his owner. Robert Wilson held his gray tabby “Chebon” on Monday for the first time since May 30, 2012, when the two were reunited at Ventura County Animal Services in Camarillo. As reported by Perry Van Houten in the Ojai Valley News on Nov. 15, longtime Ojai resident Gena Dillon found the feline Nov. 3 in the Avenue area of Ventura. The 19-year-old cat appeared to be starving, she said. Chebon went missing from Wilson's Ventura residence in 2012. A scan by a veterinarian revealed that Wilson had had Chebon microchipped when he adopted him. A phone call to Buckeye Lake, Ohio, where Wilson had moved in 2013, was all it took to get him on a plane for California, where the story ended happily today.
