City council to discuss combustion engine ban, ADUs and more Tuesday

The Ojai City Council will be holding its first regular meeting of 2020 Tuesday Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at Ojai City Hall, 401 S. Ventura St.
One of the main topics on the agenda is a public hearing introducing an ordinance to ban leaf blowers, non-riding lawn mowers and string trimmers powered by internal combustion engines in the city.
Council will also hold a public hearing on a text amendment regulating the standards of Accessory Dwelling Units. The revisions are in response to new state law requirements, and were unanimously recommended by the Ojai Planning Commission Dec. 18.
Among the discussion items is a consideration of the Ojai Parks and Recreation Commission's proposed policy for naming of city facilities, memorials, plaques and markers on public property.
The Ojai Police Department will also kick off the meeting with a presentation.
